Welcome to my I.R.C. Page. Here you will find snippets of useful information about Internet Relay Chat.
IRC is a wonderful way to communicate with others on the net. I have made numerous good friends all over the world using this medium. First you need to download an IRC client, I have found MirC to be the best. This is available at http://www.mirc.co.uk/ and can be registered for a small fee.Setting MirC up is simple and painless.

IRC Servers.
There are many IRC servers available for you to chat on. The three "biggies" are Efnet, Undernet and Dalnet, there are also countless smaller ones available. I use Dalnet out of preference. You can get there by typing /server irc.dal.net into the status window of MirC or locate it within the serverlist that comes with MirC.

People On IRC.
There are some great people on IRC but there are also some "nasties" who will "nuke" you or try to send you unwanted files (virii). It is a good idea to install a firewall (see my favourite links page.).
It is also a good idea not to accept any files from anyone until you get know and trust them.
